GETTING AROUND

Public transportation is fast and efficient in Singapore and will get you to most locations.

By train (Mass Rapid Transit)

Single trip tickets are available at the self-ticketing machines located in all MRT stations. It is recommended to purchase the Singapore Tourism Pass (EZ-link stored-value card) for unlimited travel for one day ($10), two days ($16), or three days ($20) if travelling frequently by train and bus. This pass can be purchased from TransitLink Ticket Office at the following stations: Changi Airport, Orchard, Chinatown, City Hall, Raffles Place, Ang Mo Kio, Harbourfront, Bugis, Lavender, and Bayfront.

By taxi

Travelling by taxi is the most convenient way of getting around, especially to inaccessible places. Taxis are metered but there may be surcharges depending on the time of the day and location. The taxi booking hotline is 6-DIALCAB (6342-5222).

By bus

Travelling by bus is one of the most economical and scenic form of public transportation in Singapore. Fares are paid through using the EZ-link stored-value card by tapping on the card reader upon boarding. Do remember to tap out on the reader located near the exits when alighting as the fares are calculated on a per-distance basis.
