The 6 th Sino-Singapore Symposium on Biology

An 8-member delegation from the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore attended the 2-day 6 th Sino-Singapore Symposium on Biology in Fudan University, Shanghai , China on 11-12 November 2005.
The 6 th in a series of Sino-Singapore Conferences first held in 1999 in NUS on the signing of the Trilateral MOU between the Biology Departments of Tsinghua University, Xiamen University and National University, this conference series has now expanded to include 5 more Chinese universities, making the group an 8-University group which meets every year to exchange research findings and to form networks between the universities of our two countries.
This year, both Fudan University and NUS are celebrating our centennial year. This landmark conference presented the work of many young scientists from China and Singapore, to symbolize the promise of continuing collaboration of the next generation of academics.
The Singapore group was led by Head of Department of Biological Sciences, Prof. Hew Choy Leong and was joined in Fudan by delegations from Nankai University, Wuhan University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Science and Technology of China and of course, the host university, Fudan University.
