I’m a second year Malaysian student doing a year-long Level 2000 Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program in Science (UROPS), which I started in August 2010. My project is a continuation of Anne Devan’s honours project on reticulated pythons (Broghammerus reticulatus) with the Singapore Zoo. While I still collect weekly data on diet and endoparasites, which were the two aspects of Anne’s research, I am also looking at the possibility of the existence of two ecomorphs (where the organism’s morphology is determined by its ecological environment) among the reticulated python populations in Singapore.

Working with pythons and learning from people in the lab the past four months have been rather exciting, to say the least, it has propoed up university life by quite a notch. In my free time, I like to go for walks and hikes where people are not found in high densities.
