Impact of sediment load on different coral
growth forms
Objectives :
To determine the response of different coral growth forms to sediment accumulation.
Method/Techniques used :
Field surveys will be conducted by SCUBA diving to check on various coral
growth forms and to quantify the impact of sediment accumulation on them.
The results will help in reef remediation strategies. Coral growth forms
that are most susceptible to sediment loading will be targeted in reef restoration
activities. When the impact of sedimentation is reduced, these growth forms
should be re-introduced in order to restore growth form diversity.
