Sedimention accumulation on Singapore reefs.

Objectives : To determine variability of sediment quality settling across different reef zones.

Method/Techniques used :
Sediment samples will be collected by SCUBA diving from the different reef zones (flat, bottom and slope) and analysed for grain size and other properties.

Relevance :
Sediment accumulation may not be equally distributed over a reef. There may be certain zones, or parts of specific zones where accumulation may be acute. These are areas which should be targeted for management interventions on sediment-stressed reefs.
