Synopsis:
Phylum Mollusca is the second largest phylum next to Arthropoda. There are about 100,000 species described including the largest invertebrate, the giant squid. Animals in this phylum also include the gastropods, bivalves, chitons and tusk shells. There is great diversity in forms and morphology. Students will be introduced to the basic anatomy and morphology, as well as the diversity of mollusca, especially those consume by humans for food.
