In line with Singapore’s evolving life sciences research climate and economic foci, the department is increasingly focused on interdisciplinary research spanning molecular biology, biophysics, biodiversity, ecology, evolution, human health, climate resilience, food security, and AI-enabled biological discovery to address global and regional challenges.

Our research focus are grouped into the three themes of: Biophysical Sciences; Cell, Molecular and Developmental Biology; and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
